Which Name Do You Like More…?
Question by wookiee lover: Which name do you like more…?
I’m currently working on a novel, but I’m having a hard time deciding on a name for the main character. Here is a brief description:
She is twenty-eight years old. Her brother Matt is almost ten years older than her. Her father left when she three years old and her mother died when she was fifteen. Thinking her brother and father didn’t care about her (neither of them showed up at the funeral or tried to talk to her), she ran away (didn’t like living with her aunt and uncle). For a year and a half she lived on the streets and started using drugs. She was in the hospital (for the fourth time) when her brother found her. He helped her get her life back on track and she was able to graduate high school and go to college.
She has been dating her boyfriend Jonas for eleven years. She loves kids, but doesn’t know if she wants any of her own.
She is an FBI Agent (currently working in Anchorage, Alaska). At times she really hates her job and at others she really enjoys it (when she puts a criminal behind bars).
Which name do you like more?
Josephine(Jo, Josie)
Grace
Charlotte(Charlie, Lottie)
Megan
Samantha(Sam)
Evangeline(Evan)
Feel free to suggest other names if you feel they are better suited for the character. And thanks in advance!!

The environmentalist movement began to increase dramatically in this period. Novelist Tom Wolfe coined the term Me decade in his article “The “Me” Decade and the Third Great Awakening”, published by New York magazine in August 1976 referring to the 1970s. The term describes a general new attitude of Americans towards atomized individualism and away from communitarianism in clear contrast with the 1960s. Wolfe attributes disappearance of the “proletariat” with the appearance of the “lower middle class”, citing the economic boom of Post-War America as affording the average American a sort of self determination and individuation that ran alongside economic prosperity. Wolfe describes this abandoning of communal, left, and New Deal politics as “taking the money and running.” He traces the preoccupation with one’s self back to the aristocrat. The nature of the “chivalric tradition” and the philosophy behind “the finishing school” are inherently dedicated to the building and forming of personal …
