Question by Dawn Cullen: What is it like going to boarding school?
I’m in my 8th grade year this year and my mom and shared with me her concerns about me getting a challenging education. I’ve had 2 boarding schools (one in Indiana and one is North Carolina, I live in TN) asking me to apply for their scholarships. I want to do so but I’m really weighing on the Pros and Cons. I want to go to a high end college when I get older and i feel boarding school will better prepare me than my low-class, public high school with 1 of the highest teen pregnancy and teen drug abuse rates in my state!
I have a few questions
(If I go to the one 4 hours away) Can you go home one weekends?
Do most have internet access?
Dorm room TVs?
What’s it like to live with someone else?
Do you get over the home-sickness?
Did you lose attachment with your family?
How were most of the people?
The faculty?
What’s an average day?
