If the Government Found a Cure for Cancer, Would They Keep It a Secret?

Question by Zack: If the government found a cure for cancer, would they keep it a secret?
I think they would because with a cure, the huge health corporations and many others would lose A LOT of money, since no one with cancer would need long term medical attention anymore. This seems like such an evil concept but you know the old saying, “Money is the root of all evil.”

The government spends far more money on cancer treatment than on cancer research, so there would be no point in holding back a cure. Politicians would be happy to spend the money they’d save on cancer treatment on something else — like weapons or social programs. So, no, they wouldn’t keep it a secret. They’d trumpet it to the world, “America found the cure for cancer!”
