I Keep a KA-BAR Knife in My Car, Is This Considered a Concealed Weapon in North Carolina?

Question by Tom Tollery: I keep a KA-BAR Knife in my car, is this considered a concealed weapon in North Carolina?
I keep a KA-BAR Knife in my car at all times wedged between the driver seat and center console. It is strapped in its sheath at all times unless I feel the need to stab a mother licker in the face in an act of self defense, which has not happened yet but I am hopeful that it might. However,if I am pulled over I would obviously keep my hands on the wheel in plain sight and I wouldn’t make any quick or threatening movements. I would also alert the officer of the weapon that is in my reach. Is this considered a concealed weapon in North Carolina? The reason I have it is my girl friend’s drug abusing insane ex boyfriend tried to attack me once but I just locked my car door and lit up a cigarette while I waited for him to leave. Help please!

Yes. However, your solution was right. You need to tell the officer immediately as he approaches and to not make any sudden moves. Let him tell you how to proceed but you should be okay. We don’t like nasty surprises but once you make it known you can avoid charges.
