Help! I’m Recently Divorced, Haven’t Dated Since High School!?

Question by DixieMuddin’: Help! I’m recently divorced, haven’t dated since high school!?
I divorced my wife of 1.5 years after almost 6 years of being together. After losing her job, she became depressed and even though I did everything I could as her husband to help her, she began using drugs and cheating on me. Cheating because she thought that I didn’t care enough and she would find someone that would. I had to divorce her because there is only so much hurt than one man can take. Anyways, that’s in the past.

So, I don’t really want a commited relationship right now, I’m still healing from that bad one prior. However, I would love to make some female friends, and maybe become friends with benefits with some of them. Problem is, I haven’t dated since high school (I’m 23 now) and I haven’t had much luck meeting women around this town (Port Charlotte/Englewood FL). Can you suggest some good places to go? Also, what is the best way to approach them?

In other words, what has worked for some of you on here that have more experience with this? 🙂

Thanks!
