Name Ideas for a Story?
Question by Jocelyn: Name ideas for a story?
The plot of the story is basically a Detective falls in love with a murderer and at the end of the story, she snaps and kills him at the end.
The story takes place in the 50’s-60’s.
1)
The girl/murderer is 26 years old. Her hair is mid-back length and black, wavy, she’s pale and has hazel eyes. She’s 5’5″ and slender. She’s a murderer and since she’s a murderer obviously she’s a bit mentally unstable but she’s decent at hiding it. She’s manipulative, a thief, liar, and not above using her body to get what she wants. She’s also addicted to drugs, cocaine, specifically.
Name(s) I was considering: Charlene, or Elaine. I found them all on a “Top names of the 1930s” site which is roughly when she’d be born. Aha. But
I also need middle and last name ideas for them, or just last names. 🙂
I have no clue for her last name.
Charlene Elizabeth ____
Elaine Charlotte ____
or maybe… Elaine Joyce ____ or Charlene Beverly ___.
2)
the detective is 34, he wears a trench coat and fedora, the usual detective attire haha. He has dark, almost black-brown hair, and blue eyes. And light skin, but not super pale. He’s not super muscular but not super skinny. Kinda in the middle and about 6’0″. When working he can come off as like, emotionless and calculating/silent almost, just focusing on getting the job done.
But under that he can be a bit clueless when it comes to love, overprotective, and easily hurt.
He’s like, gentleman-like and spoils the murderer after they fall in love like,, breakfast in bed, gives her flowers often, etc.
Name(s) I was considering: Roland or Nelson, maybe?
Full name ideas I was considering: But I also have no clue for his last name.
Nelson Robert _____
Roland Michael _____
Or maybe… Nelson Albert ____
But yeah I need suggestions, I’m pretty certain I’ll use “Charlene” for sure for the first girl, but I am open too suggestions and I really need to think of last names for them both.
-And I know this isn’t the right place to ask but I need some ideas on how they they meet. I mean, I think I could have them meet on a crime scene, like the girl murdered someone, since she is a murderer. And he has to investigate. But I think that’s something people would expect probably. Aha. So I just need help with some ideas of where they should meet.
Thank you!

They could meet in a coffee shop? Or they could bump into each other when she’s going away from the crime scene and he’s going to it?
Charlene Elizabeth sounds better out of the ones in your description, it just rolls off of your tongue when you say it…
Charlene Elizabeth Walker
Charlene Elizabeth Knowles [No-wells, silent K]
Charlene Elizabeth Whittaker
Charlene Elizabeth Livingstone
Charlene Elizabeth Piper
I prefer Nelson Robert for the detective…It could possibley be swapped round to Robert Nelson, it rolls off of the tongue…
Nelson Robert Firth
Robert Nelson Firth
Nelson Robert Walker
Robert Nelson Walker
Nelson Robert James
Robert Nelson James
Nelson Robert Graham
Robert Nelson Graham
Hope this helps…

Yeah, i agree with you, I would go with Charlene – Charlene Elizabeth i like, or i guess depending where she grew up in. if she grew up in a trashy, poor situation, then i would go beverly, but is she was brought up well, with plenty of money and love then elizabeth 🙂
For the detective..i’d go nelson as well..probably nelson robert. maybe for a last name you could use:
james, cuskellie, watson, dunlop, quin, paulee, numero, pence.
ideas for how they meet…well, he could be in the police station, and see her face at the window, then run after her. OR he may get a GLIMPSE of her at the crime scene, then see her later in the week at say, a shop, and then remembers her. OR she might be brought in for interviewing, and he sees her at the police station. but its your story, and im sure that whatever you decide, it will be AWESOME! 😀
hope i helped!
